Tips for keeping work at the office

The simple 9-to-5 job seems to be a thing of the past for many, as a number of individuals admit they are guilty of taking work-related calls while at home, or scrolling through office emails after dinner. However, finding a personal life and work balance is important - and there are a couple of tips to help individuals achieve it.

According to Central Health, the first step is to avoid weekend work at all costs, as this is the time to spend with family, not with a laptop.

One of the biggest obstacles for individuals is keeping their work phone at a distance while at home. This can be especially trying if a person's cell phone is both their work and personal device. One solution can be opting for an additional phone number. This way, an individual can program it so certain calls go straight to an office voicemail after certain hours.

Finally, keep multitasking at a minimum. When at home, focus on family and friends, rather than weeding through emails and taking late business meetings while watching television or eating dinner.
